Card payments with Stripe
Card, SEPA, Apple Pay, Google Pay — for your online courses and your shop. Card data never touches your website.
What is the Stripe module?
With the Stripe module your ForgeCMS website accepts payments by card, SEPA direct debit, Apple Pay, Google Pay and more, through the payment provider Stripe.
How it works
- The buyer is sent to Stripe's payment page and comes back after paying. Card and bank details never touch your website, so you need no heavy certification.
- Stripe reports every payment through a webhook, signed and verified. The success page also asks Stripe directly, so the buyer sees the result at once.
- Which payment methods are offered is set in the Stripe dashboard.
Where it is used
- Online courses: buy a course and start right away (see the courses module).
- Shop: products with a euro price get the payment option "Card, SEPA and more (Stripe)" next to bank transfer and June (Ğ1). After payment, order mail, download link and seller mail go out automatically.
Test and live
- Store Stripe's test keys and live keys. A small admin page switches between test and live with one click.
- In test mode you pay with the test card
4242 4242 4242 4242, and the buy box shows a clear notice. Test purchases do not count in live mode. - The keys live only on your server, never in the Git repository.
Cost
Stripe charges a fee per payment (for European cards currently about 1.5 % + €0.25, as of October 2026). There is no monthly fee. The module itself is €29 one-time, minor updates included.
